Laurell K. Hamilton: Merry Gentry series
I re-read the Merry Gentry series during the summer. I had read it for the first time some time in 2007 or 2008, before the last two books were out.
There are elements I like in this series - why else would I re-read it? The way Merry isn't a pampered fairy princess, but someone who tries to make the world a better place. I admire that. You can't help liking Merry as a character, and you'll start cheering for her, when you compare her to her aunt and cousin. Merry doesn't hide behind her warriors, but leads from the front.
The thing I don't like in the series are that sometimes there seems to be zero plot in the books. It is just "hey let's have some great sex!" Nothing wrong with that, but it should be connected to something that at least looks like a plot.
Also there can't ever be enough books with women having a harem of pretty boys...
